In iOS 10, Apple released a new API called CallKit. It lets VoIP calls show up as “normal” calls. So when you’d get a call from Skype, it would show up in full screen, instead of a notification, complete with the accept and decline buttons. And the calls would end up in the Phone app in the “Recents” tab.

The only problem is that if you use Skype a lot, they’ll basically end up taking over your Phone app. And personally, I don’t like that. It makes finding “normal” phone calls from the Recents tab much more difficult.

But don’t worry, there’s a way to disable this feature and go back to the old ways – the notification way.

Disable Integrated Calling in Skype

To disable the iOS 10 integrated calls in Skype, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Open the Skype app and tap on the “My info” tab.

Step 2: Select “Settings”, then swipe down the find the “Integrated Calling” option.

Step 3: Tap on the toggle to turn it off.

Manually Delete Past Calls from Recents

Now that new calls are disabled, it’s time to clear the old ones. Find the Skype call in the Recents menu, swipe “left” on it and tap on “Delete”.

No Such Option for WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger Yet

I went scuba diving in both Messenger and WhatsApp’s setting section but I couldn’t find anything to disable the CallKit functionality. Maybe they’ll add it soon. But for now, it’s only for Skype.

To narrow down this issue, please help to check following:

1. May I know if you can sign in this Skype for Business account on other devices? Such as: other Phones, Skype for Business on Windows.
2. When did this issue occurred? And would you be able to sign in before?
3. May I know the detailed Skype for Business version number? You can send us a screenshot about it.
4. May I know how many people have same issue (can’t sign in) in your organization?

Thanks for your information from PM. Now, I understand that you can sign in this Skype for Business account on your Surface not iPhone. So, I understand that this issue may not related to your Skype for Business account.

Please help to use “Advance options” to configure your Skype for Business manually:

1. Turn off “Auto-Detect Server”
2. Enter “sipdir.online.lync.com:443” both on the Internal Discovery Address and External Discovery Address.

If you still can’t sign in, please help to change another networking to see if this issue persist (use 3G/4G). Meanwhile, please help to sign in your Skype for Business account other phone (such as your colleague) to see if you can sign in. if you can sign in on your colleague’s phone, please help to reinstall your Skype for Business client to see is this issue persist.

Tough to sign in to a colleague's iphone since we are not located close by. I attempted all your steps and none of them worked. I'm still unsure why this happened all of a sudden. I believe it is somehow connected with the update. Very frustrating!

I am unsure how to reinstall the skype client as I have deleted and reinstalled the app to get the same results.

1. Change another network to see if this issue persist, such as 4G/another WIFI.
2. We also hope you can sign in another client to see if you can sign in, you can ask your family or other people you can sign in your account temporarily.

1. May I know if your organization enable the modern authentication for your Skype for Business online?
2. Can you sign in Skype for Business on Android?

Please help to involve your IT department or organization admin to check if you enable the Skype for Business online policy.
